Terminator: The Burning
Earth
Now comics
Illustrated by Alex Ross
 Once
again The Terminator wins the title. In March 1990 Now Comics released
a 5-issue mini-series called Terminator: The Burning Earth. This
is the best comic book series involving the Terminator. The whole
look and feel of the books is dark and grim. The futuristic world
remains true to the world seen in the movie. The books convey a
sense of urgency and hopelessness for the humans in their fight
against a world run by machines. The
painted artwork in the series really catches the eye. It is absolutely
stunning!
 In
Terminator: The Burning Earth, the war against the machines is not
going so good for John Connor. They are losing more and more lives
in their battle against Skynet. There is end to the Terminators.
Skynet was originally a nuclear defence system located in the Rockies.
It decides to stop wasting time hunting down humans, and just nuke
the whole planet. J.C. realizes it's time to take drastic measures
and attack Skynet at the core of its root, The Thunder Mountain.
J.C. figures since Skynet is a computer, it must have a CPU and
a power source. In a brave attack, Connor and his small army rush
the mountain. The first nuclear bombs reach their targets and the
sky suddenly starts fighting back. Connor's men absorb many casualties
from the Terminators who defend the fortress. In the end though,
they are able to destroy both the CPU and the power generator, and
put an end to Skynet. Or do they? The last panel shows a red glint
in the eye of a Terminator!
