The Best Demon Movie

The ExorcistIn 1973, The Exorcist was released. To this date, this still remains one of the scariest movies of all time. The special effects were top notch and the script simply terrifying. With new horror movies coming out everyday, The Exorcist can still scare anyone who watches it. This is unbelievable considering the movie accomplishes its goal without repetitive killings, vast amounts of gore and a disfigured assassin hiding behind a mask.

The ExorcistThe Exorcist contains all the elements of a frightening horror movie, but it brings forth these elements in a slow even paced way that toys with the suspense even more. William Friedkin takes plenty of time preparing the audience before the terror begins. In a day and age when audiences want immediate action, the slow, suspenseful pattern is not mocked. Rather than starting out with demonic possession, William Friedkin sets up the plot, introduces each character, and paves the way for the ultimate horror flick ever produced.

The ExorcistWhen the movie came out in 1973, the world had never seen such horrific acts. This led to the hospitalization of some people. Many people vomited during the movie. Ambulances were set up in front of the movie theatres. Terrified and disgusted people left the theatres before the movie was even finished.

It has been almost thirty years since this movie hit the screens. It is every bit as frightening today as it was in 1973.
