The History of Mermaids
The term "mermaid"
has come to refer to both sexes of aqua-inhabitants commonly known
as mermaids and mermen. It is thought by some that mermaids have
been around longer than people. It is known that land mammals arose
from the sea. Mermaids are a CO-evolutionary form, like other animals
that have evolved on different continents to fill similar ecological
niches, so mermaids evolved to fill a similar niche beneath the
seas as is filled by humans on land. There are limited evolutionary
relationships between mermaids and humans.
Mermaids
have been documented all over the world. From Ireland to Italy and
Germany to Japan. It has been said that mermaids and mermen do not
like humans because of the way our species has little respect for
nature. But is has also been said that they can tolerate women more
than men. Merpeople are said to live in Oceans, lakes, rivers, and
desert oases.
The diet of a mermaids
and mermen can be different with each one. Some of them have been
known to eat fish, others depending of their system of beliefs,
do not. Many of them farm fish like we farm pigs, and cows.
A good singing voice
comes from a fortuitous arrangement of the vocal chords, which is
inherent in all mermaids' genetic makeup.
Mermaids have certain
powers of charm. They can lure a person to them with song.
