Robots
& Cyborgs (row- bots and sigh-borgs) A machine
that resembles a human, who responds to mechanical routine commands.
Technology for robots and cyborgs has greatly improved in the
twenty-first century. They are faster, smarter and stronger than
they have ever been. They look realistically human. They are generally
designed to perform work meant to be done by humans.
Today's
robots and cyborgs do not require any human maintenance. They
have microchips with learning capabilities so they can become
fully human. They can respond to touch, feelings and emotions.
They are so lifelike that they drink, eat and produce waste just
like humans.
The
word cyborg comes from the concept of cybernetic organism which
is a combination of both human and machine. These artificial beings
consider themselves human as they carry with them microchips that
instruct them to do so.
With
robots and cyborgs developing the way they are, it is not difficult
to image a world were the mechanical persons are hunting and destroying
the human race, enslaving their masters as their slaves. Letting
humans work for the artificial race humans once created.
Technology
is so advanced that we take it for granted. We must stop to think
about our advancement. We can light up our nights, communicate
with family and friends on the other side of the world and fly
across counties and oceans in hours.
