Skeletons
(skel-eh-tens) The bones that form the body's internal framework.
Without skeletons, all lifeforms would become blobs of flesh and
blood. There are two types of skeletons. Exoskeleton and endoskeleton.
The shell of the exoskeleton is made up primarily of calcium carbonate.
These are the smallest of skeletons mainly for in microscopic
creatures and insects. This exoskeleton is nonliving.
The
endoskeleton is a larger sized framework found on humans and larger
animals. These skeletons are made up mostly of bone and cartilage.
The human body is made up of two hundred and six bones.
Skeleton
frames differ from humans and animals. For example, the skeleton
of a fish is made up entirely of cartilage, while the skeleton
of a bird is are made up of hollow tubes engulfed with air pockets.
Skeletons
are used sometimes by witches and wizards, as they are revived
from the dead to take on evil missions. Skeletons can not feel
any pain or emotions, making them the ultimate killing machines.
They are heartless, mindless creatures that simply follow orders
from those who resurrect them. They do not require any sleep or
food to carry on their orders. Since they are already dead, they
need nothing.
