Superhero Posters
Heroes and super powers,
something all children dream of. Wanting to be one, yearning to
possess their powers for a just few hours, or hoping to be saved
by one of them in a time of darkness or distress – that
is the stuff of our imagination. We all share a connection with
our favourite heroes and their conquests against the powers of
evil. Although they are better equipped for battle than we are,
their emotions make them vulnerable. Love, fear and intense inner
struggles humanize these icons and help us to comprehend our own
emotional conflicts. Superhero posters are a concrete way to review
their awesome adventures and create new ones; but most important,
they motivate us to do good and help us face our own problems
while feeling protected within the confines of our rooms.
DC Comics
DC comics: a name that packs a punch in the comic book world has been a leader in the comic book industry since the early nineteen-hundreds. Formerly known as Detective Comics, DC has been in the forefront for so long that it has had to deal with the finicky tastes of its readers. Responsible for superheroes such as:
- Superman
- Batman
-
Wonder Woman
-
Green Lantern
-
The Flash
-
Justice League
DC was not afraid to step in to the breach when the popularity of superheroes dwindled temporarily. With a variety of books in the genres of science fiction, westerns, humor, and romance they are likely responsible for our times great romance novelists, lawmen, scientists and space travelers.
Marvel Comics
With heavy-hitting
good guys such as Fantastic Four, The Amazing Spider-Man, The
Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Daredevil, Captain America, and the
X-men, Marvel comics has been on the forefront of the comic book
scene since 1939 (under its former name Timely Comics). With comic
book creator and legend Stan Lee at the helm, Marvel has created
characters that most everyone can associate with, and each one
can be admired on its own superhero poster.
Dark Horse
Comics
Dark Horse comics,
a leader in the independent comic book world, was founded by Mike
Richardson in 1986. Its creation spawned from the notion that
comic books (even the best ones) had become substandard. Desperate
to inject a shot of adrenaline into the industry he loved, he
invested his earnings into a chain of book/comic stores and founded
Dark Horse Comics. Soon after, Dark Horse exploded into the market
with ground-breaking titles such as: Hellboy, Sin City, The Incredibles,
Concrete, Barb Wire, and many more.
Heroes we love and
villains we fear, all occupy a special place in our heart. Comic
book collections can be a legacy to hand down, but must be well
protected from the elements in order to preserve their value.
Keep your favorite action heroes at arms length with superhero
posters; that way, they can be fodder for the imagination whenever
you seek inspiration, advice, or protection from your enemies.
