Vampires
(vam-pie-ors) Nosferatu. The Undead. A reanimated corpse
that is believed to prey and suck on the blood of the living.
They have the power and charm to deceive humans and animals and
make them followers. Vampires live in the night and sleep during
the day. This is due to the fact that the day can hurt them. They
can live forever and usually only die when they are killed.
Vampires
can turn into bats, wolves or mist. They need blood to survive.
Contrary to popular belief, daylight and crosses can not kill
vampires; it can only hurt them and render them powerless and
weak. A stake though the heart or pure sunlight are the only things
that can kill a vampire.
When
vampires attack the living they usually go for the neck. This
area is soft and envelopes the jugular vein which is filled with
flowing blood. It is believed that the victims themselves turn
into vampires. Vampires can sometimes be warded off with such
items as charms, crosses and garlic.
The
most popular vampire known is Dracula. Many movies and books have
be made on him. He is not a fictional character as many fear ridden
people wish to believe. Dracula existed in the 1400's. Bram Stoker's
version of the dark knight was very true to the character.
