Dragon X-Files

From the pages of The Irish Chronicles (An Irish newspaper) May 21, 1999

Jason O'Connell has offered a ten thousand dollar reward to anyone who has information leading to the location of his thirteen-year-old son, James O'Connell. Friends and family have set up a citywide search for the boy who disappeared three days ago without a trace. Police believe that the boy ran away but aren't ruling out the possibility of abduction.

Police reports say that James was possibly disturbed. He claimed that he found a dying dragon in the woods near his home. He informed his parents about this and they did not believe him. "A dragon," quoted desperate Mr. O'Connell "Come on. Would you believe it? Either he saw a deer or a bear or some wild animal or he was reaching out to us. I should have listened to his pleas. I could have prevented all this."

James believed he saw a dragon. When asked what happened after the conversation Mr. O'Connell said James told him that he was going to the FBI. After spending a few minutes in his room James grabbed his jacket and headed for the door. "They believe me, he told me," quoted Mr. O'Connell again. "They believe me. Then he ran out of the house and we haven't seen him since. We've searched the woods and there was no sign of him or even the so called dragon he spoke about."

James O'Connell has a history of rebellious attitude and often got in trouble at school. Some of his teachers said the he was 'very defiant'. Earlier this year, James had run away from home and spent the night at his friend's house. He went back home the next day. The FBI say they've never a received a phone call to report a dragon.
