Mermaid X-Files

Timothy Loveland was arrested last night after an odd confrontation at the home of Jonathon Davil. Neighbors say the former two best friends engaged in a heated argument then Timothy tried to force his way into the house and began throwing punches. As the two wrestled each other, Jonathon's wife Rosalina Devareaux joined the assault. Together Johnathan and Rosalina overpowered the assailant and knocked him unconscious. Police were at the scene a few minutes later and Timothy was charged with assault, unlawful entry, breaking a restraining order and uttering death threats.

The two have been feuding for a couple of months. "We were best friends and then suddenly he started telling me that I was married to a mermaid. It all began when we vacationed near the ocean. Tim and Rosie were boating together one day when he made a pass at her. Rosie refused his approach and that's when all this started. His version was that Rosie fell into the sea and when he tried to help her out she refused because she turned into a mermaid. That was probably his way of defending himself for his actions. Rosie is a good swimmer but would never even put a finger in the ocean because she is terrified of fish and anything in the water that might bite her. If she fell in, she would have taken the hand of a killer. We ended our friendship there and then but he wouldn't stay away. He kept coming back. Last week while having dinner with Rosie in a public restaurant he came in and threw a bucket of water at her. We called the cops then and put a restraining order on him."

As for Rosalina, "We have a pool in the backyard. I think I would know if she is a mermaid. She swims in the pool all the time and it safe to say that she has two legs, not a fin."
